“Corona, the first successful portable (over two million in use today) is likewise the ONLY portable with the effortless “Floating Shift”. Saves work, saves time, ensures more accurate alignment.” – Text from an advertisement
My father in law worked at Bell Aircraft designing supersonic airplanes in 1947 in an engineering office with about 35 engineers designing the world’s fastest aircraft. Among them they had ONE secretary who probably worked on a machine like this. This person handled any kind of communication they felt was needed.
Today, everyone communicates on their own, disseminates information, socializes on facebook using the same kind of keyboard and by typing.
This piece represents the beauty and simplicity of a fully mechanical piece of equipment to serve the same purpose that our computers serve today.
